This appetizer is a guilt free party favourite that you can serve to a large group or when jack frost is nipping at your nose with your favourite person.
Burrata cheese is a cow milk cheese made from mozzarella and cream. You can find it at specialty grocery stores. It is a simple fabulous appetizer of sweet fresh figs, served atop luscious, creamy burrata, drizzled with honey, and topped with salted, toasted walnuts for contrast.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 ball of burrata cheese
- 1/2 cup toasted, salted walnuts
- 1/2 lbs fresh figs
- 2-3 Tbs honey
- sea salt
INSTRUCTIONS
- Lightly sprinkle the walnuts with water, and salt liberally. Place in a toaster oven, or conventional oven (350 F) on medium high, for about 5 minutes, or until nicely toasted.
- Arrange the fresh figs, cut in quarters, around the burrata cheese, drizzle all with honey, and top with the salted toasted walnuts. Optionally sprinkle some flaky sea salt on top.
- Serve with crackers of choice.
