This appetizer is a guilt free party favourite that you can serve to a large group or when jack frost is nipping at your nose with your favourite person.

Burrata cheese is a cow milk cheese made from mozzarella and cream. You can find it at specialty grocery stores. It is a simple fabulous appetizer of sweet fresh figs, served atop luscious, creamy burrata, drizzled with honey, and topped with salted, toasted walnuts for contrast.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 ball of burrata cheese
  • 1/2 cup toasted, salted walnuts
  • 1/2 lbs fresh figs
  • 2-3 Tbs honey
  • sea salt

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Lightly sprinkle the walnuts with water, and salt liberally.  Place in a toaster oven, or conventional oven (350 F) on medium high, for about 5 minutes, or until nicely toasted.
  2. Arrange the fresh figs, cut in quarters, around the burrata cheese, drizzle all with honey, and top with the salted toasted walnuts. Optionally sprinkle some flaky sea salt on top.
  3. Serve with crackers of choice.
