From Bernadette Erb
Client and author of Silver Lining

In my book Silver Linings, I share my experiences with physical illnesses, cancers, childhood traumas, mental health issues, and addictions to medication‘s. I was barely surviving, hardly functioning and biofeedback help save my life.

Thank you biofeedback and Montaha for all of your love and support.

My Story

I reached out to Montaha several times throughout my healing journey. She supported and guided me through some of my toughest times with cancer and when I was very sick. I was experiencing extreme nausea in the mornings. It was debilitating and most days I was unable to function before 1 PM. I was dealing with depression, and had gained 80 pounds of unhealthy weight due to inactivity. I had acid reflux with almost anything I ate which deterred me from eating anything at all. I was nutritionally deficient, always exhausted and was dealing with tremendous pain from the chemotherapy treatment.
I was so desperate and barely holding on.  I felt hopeless,  misunderstood and alone.  I reached out to Montaha from a point of pure desperation. Maybe she could help me ? She was working with an amazing technology and it later approved to be a valuable resource for me.

To be completely honest,  in the beginning I was a skeptic. I got to a point where I didn’t have much faith in anything but I had nothing to lose at this point and I trusted Montaha.

As it turns out,  Biofeedback proved to be a very valuable tool. This was a huge turning point for me. Within five minutes of the Biofeedback testing she was able to see what was happening to my body. It indicated that there was something very wrong and assured me that I wasn’t going crazy but that I was in crisis.

Montaha soothe me by confirming my mind wasn’t making it all up like the doctors tried to convince me. All of my symptoms were side effect from one of the medication‘s I had been taking.  Biofeedback indicated that I was allergic to one of the medication. It was the culprit and was contributing to my depression and causing my rapid weight gain, my lethargy and  my dangerously low blood pressure.

Not once in all my trips to the emergency room with dangerously low blood pressure did any of the doctors even consider that one of the medications might have been the problem. All their tests couldn’t tell me why this was happening to me. The only answer they ever gave me was that it may have been a side effect from the chemo treatment I had previously been.

This was astonishing to me, how could the doctors have missed this? After the test results from Biofeedback, I returned to the hospital and from a point of shear desperation begged the Doctors to look into the drugs to rule out any issues. Out of the eight doctors that I saw one agreed to look into my medication‘s. Thank God that doctor finally heard me. He ordered the testing and the results came back indicating that I was indeed allergic to one of the medication‘s, confirming what biofeedback had already indicated.

I slowly started to wean myself off the that medication. Montaha and biofeedback help me through this difficult process. Biofeedback suggested a specific protocols that included nutritional support through specific foods and supplements, and a detox protocol to help me stabilize.  It also suggested bio energetic NLP Therapy to assist me with my emotional trauma and my addiction to the drugs.

Interestingly Biofeedback also indicated that writing would be a great therapy to help me mentally process and work through some of the unresolved issues from my childhood. My other therapist and friends also encourage me to do so. This process is where the inception of silver lining came from.

Through hard work and effort I have my life back. I feel better than I have felt in such a long time. I have renewed faith and hope and I feel and look great.  I love my life. And it shows.

One of the interesting things during this process with Montaha and we both shared a love of cooking. We both had parents who owned restaurants and we both grew up in Huron county and shared similar stories.

Cooking brought me great joy and it helped me provide something for my family when I had very little energy for anything else. I was able to muster enough energy to make family dinner. That was important to me.

I use the spices and foods Montaha recommended into my diet. This Roasted Butternut Coconut  Lime Soup was an inspiration from her suggestions and has become a staple in our household. You can eat it cold in the summer like a gazpacho and heat it up for the winter.

Thank you for hearing my story and letting me share this recipe with you.

I hope you enjoy it
